Winter 24 already has lots of fantasy and isekai anime, and the rest of the year will introduce even more. Soon, fans can look forward to the recently announced The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army was a Human anime.
This upcoming show was revealed alongside a teaser trailer, which surprisingly showed off new footage. Typically, shows are revealed with either a simple announcement video or with just a teaser visual.
What’s more, the anime’s main cast has also been announced, and it features lots of popular seiyuu.
New Fantasy Anime The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army Reveals Cast
The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord's Army was a Human is a new anime that’s based on an ongoing dark fantasy manga. In turn, the manga is based on a light novel series that ran from 2016 to 2018.
This is typical of many light novels, as manga adaptations are usually produced for popular titles. Such is the case with The Apothecary Diaries.
In the announcement though, this anime is confirmed to be based on the manga, meaning their story and visuals should be closely aligned.
Also revealed was the show’s cast, which includes the following big-name voice actors:
- Jun Fukuyama (Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass) as Ike
- Hina Tachibana (Shiori Katase in My Tiny Senpai) as Satie
- Shizuka Itou (Torture Tortura in ‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess) as Cefiro
- Manaka Iwami (Akane Kurokawa in Oshi no Ko) as Dairokuten Demon Lord
- Azumi Waki (Nagisa Minase in Girlfriend, Girlfriend) as Lilith

The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army Anime to Be Released This Year
This anime’s story is as the title implies. The protagonist is Ike, who is considered the strongest magician in the Demon Lord’s Army. Unbeknownst to everyone though, Ike’s a human.
To go along with the reveal, the anime’s first trailer was released, which features clips from the show by Studio A-Cat (of I've Somehow Gotten Stronger When I Improved My Farm-Related Skills fame).

As the manga is not officially released in English, it’s not clear if this series is a dark fantasy or an isekai. Given the title and its premise, it’s likely that this is another isekai anime.
Fans won’t need to wait too long though, as The Strongest Magician is set to premiere this year, though there’s no word yet on a specific release date.
