With the influx of Kdrama shows adapted from webtoons, it's easy to assume that the next show will be from the same source. Is Strong Girl Nam-soon based on a webtoon too?
Since the show is a spin-off series from Strong Girl Bong-soon, we need to ask the same thing: is Strong Girl Bong-soon based on a manhwa? Here's what we know about the show's source material.
Is Strong Girl Bong-soon Based on a Webtoon?
Despite the number of shows being adapted from webtoons or manhwa, Strong Girl Bong-soon and Strong Girl Nam-soon do not come from one.
It's easy to think that this franchise is from a webtoon, especially since it is about a girl with superhuman strength. In the case of the spin-off series, the show explores the idea of a family of supers coming from the maternal side of the family.
But no, Strong Girl Bong-soon does not come from a webtoon. In fact, the show inspired one creator to start making a manhwa.
On Naver, you'll find a webtoon that was inspired by the Kdrama. The webtoon, created by rye<3, currently has one episode that was released in April 2021. There is only one episode, which serves as an introduction to the material.

Although the two Kdramas are from the same universe, they are not directly connected to one another. Strong Girl Nam-soon is not a sequel to Strong Girl Bong-soon.
More importantly, none of the original cast members are part of the Strong Girl Nam-soon cast. However, both Park Bo-young and Park Hyung-sik have a cameo in the series. They are reprising their roles as Do Bong-soon and Ahn Min-hyuk, respectively.
Strong Girl Nam-soon is a spin-off of Strong Girl Bong-soon. The only relation it has with the original series is that Bong-soon and Nam-soon are distant cousins.
The super strength gene follows the matriarchal line in their heritage, which explains why the women have this superpower.
Aside from Bong-soon and Nam-soon, we know of two other women in the story who are blessed with super strength: Nam-soon's mother (played by Kim Jung-eun) and grandmother (played by Kim Hae-sook).
Hopefully, we get to learn more about the history of their family and how they came to possess this power.
