Stranger Things Writers Cryptically Tease Season 5 Plot Details

The Duffer Brothers have been pretty tight-lipped when it comes to revealing any potential spoilers for Stranger Things Season 5. The most we’ve gotten so far is the Episode 1 title, The Crawl, seemingly teasing Eddie Munson’s (Joseph Quinn) inevitable return. However, nothing has been confirmed yet. That said, the Stranger Things writers just revealed a cryptic tease on what to expect for the series finale.

The writers of Stranger Things took their cryptic tease on their Twitter account, @strangerwriters, where they had posted: “[Stranger Things] Season 5 is like if Season 1 and 4 had a baby. And then that baby was injected with steroids.” Check out their tweet below:

Many fans had gone hysterical in their quoted tweets, laying down their best theories on what this could mean. While some had theorized that Steve and Nancy are getting their “deserved endgame”, others had been quite skeptical on the quality Season 5 will emit, especially since the comparison included Season 4, which is not exactly the best season for the Netflix series.

While the tease didn’t exactly reveal anything, our best guess is checking the hints and clues the Duffer Brothers had been leaving since the beginning of Stranger Things Season 1. Many have previously theorized that Will Byers or Eleven are set to sacrifice themselves to save Hawkins from the utter tragedy of Vecna and the Upside Down takeover.

However, no one, not even the star of the show, Millie Bobby Brown, has been made aware of the final outing of Stranger Things’ finale: “I don’t know what it’s about. I honestly don’t know what it’s about. Nobody’s shared anything with me, so you’d have to ask the people that are experts in Stranger Things for that one.”

An official release date for Stranger Things Season 5 has not been announced yet. In the meantime, you can catch Stranger Things Seasons 1-4 available to stream on Netflix.
