Stranger Things’ Third Season Sets New Streaming Records On Netflix

It looks like the third season of Stranger Things has been making major waves on Netflix. The series returned two years after the release of its second batch of episodes, and it looks like it was worth the wait.

Now, not only was Stranger Things' third season well-received by both fans and critics but according to Netflix's Twitter account, Stranger Things Season 3 has just set a new viewership record for the streaming site. Apparently, more than 40 million household accounts had been recorded watching the show since its global launch on July 4. Out of those 40 million, 18.2 million have finished the entire season.

Of course, it doesn't come as a surprise to see Stranger Things taking the world by storm with its latest batch of episodes. Since the show's debut in 2016, the science fiction horror series has been one of Netflix's biggest draws. The two-year gap between Seasons 2 and 3 also helped increase fans' excitement and anticipation with an extensive marketing campaign that teased an epic new season.

Stranger Things Season 3 didn't disappoint, raising the stakes for the heroes in Hawkins, Indiana.

While Season 4 has yet to be greenlit, the overwhelming numbers seem to point to another batch of episodes for the series.

Stranger Things Season 3 is streaming on Netflix.
