Stranger Things Star Brett Gelman Wants Mike to End Up with Will: "I Ship Byler Big Time!"

Noah Schnapp — who plays Will in the critically-acclaimed show Stranger Things recently confirmed Will's presumed sexuality, confirming that the character is indeed gay and is surprisingly in love with Mike (Finn Wolfhard).

While Will’s sexuality was foreshadowed throughout Season 4 of the Netflix hit, Schnapp’s revelation regarding Will’s honest feelings for Mike is so much more complex now that Mike is already in a relationship with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), who is now Will’s stepsister. However, according to another Stranger Things actor, the odds of seeing Mike ending up with Will in the finale is very likely.

In a recent tweet by Brett Gelman, who plays Murray in Stranger Things has shown support for the "Bylers" (Byers-Wheeler), saying that if they matched together, "it should be so."

Fans had a diverse reaction to Gelman's statement, defending Mike's relationship with Eleven. Following his initial Tweet, some fans reacted with homophobic remarks over Gelman, which he didn't identify as an insult. "It’s pretty pathetic that all you little homophobes think calling me gay is an insult. It’s a compliment. So thank you. I ship love in whatever form it takes baby. And y’all who don’t. Maybe you’re scared to look at something," Gelman tweeted.

In another tweet, he asserted that he totally supports Mike and Eleven's relationship, but hopes that Will finds love for himself. "Let me be clear that I also ship Eleven and Mike. If that’s what’s meant to be. Regardless I hope Will finds love as well as love for himself and who he really is. No one should feel ashamed for who they are and who they love."

Eleven and Mike's relationship remained strong in Season 4 and it's highly unlikely that Mike would rather be with Will. Aside from that, Mike getting between them would not only jeopardize Eleven and Mike's relationship but also ruin his relationship with his new sister, Eleven. This love triangle is more intricate since there's a lot at stake for Will that could eradicate his relationship with either of the two causing a tremendous internal dilemma for the character. Hopefully, Season 5 could settle a decent coming out for Will, and of course, find the love he deserves.

Stranger Things Season 4 is available to stream on Netflix.
