Stranger Things Spin-Off Shows: Are They Happening? Here’s Everything We Know So Far

One of Netflix's biggest sci-fi genre series may have spin-offs in the works, according to reports. Netflix head Ted Sarandos revealed that extensions of Stranger Things will happen in the future. Allegedly, Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven in the show, will also be the lead in one of these spin-off shows.

Reports revealed that Ted Sarandos has voiced out future plans for Stranger Things include spin-offs. He said the show is a franchise being born and, of course, we could not agree more. It is also important to take into consideration that it will not only be one spin-off but there will be several of them.

Obviously, other characters will also have their own shows, we are hoping that Police Chief James "Jim" Hopper played by David Harbour (Black Widow) will have a show of his own. For sure, fans would be waiting for this as he is one of the most beloved characters on the show. Maybe Finn and the gang will have one too -- who knows?

Prequels and sequels will also be on the horizon Sarandos said and this will lead to new characters for the extending universe of Stranger Things.

In an interview, Stranger Things creator, brothers Matt and Ross Duffer have expressed that they always had an ending in mind for the series. They revealed that they want the show to end in season five. This was confirmed further by Shawn Levy, the show's executive producer. He shared:

"I have the end in sight. The brothers have the end in sight. There is a plan and that too will be shared not quite as soon as a sense of when Season 4 is coming out, but soon enough. I can say this. No, one's making it up as we go along and there is an endgame if you will."

He also stated that it is highly likely that Stranger Things will have a spin-off series, but this will only happen once the show has ended. Levy claimed:

"What's been made clear is there is an interest and a real voracious appetite for any offshoot, any other iteration format or extension of the franchise, the characters, the mythology. And certainly those conversations are hardly evolved, but they're also not non-existent."

Meanwhile, according to the latest reports, Stranger Things Season 4 will not be aired until 2022 to the dismay of the fans. However, Netflix has heard the woes of the fans and released an early teaser for the latest season.
