Stranger Things Season 4's Murray Actor Says He 'Absolutely Would' Return in Potential Spinoff

After three years of anticipation, Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 is finally streaming on Netflix. The long-awaited fourth season centers on the Hawkins crew as they dive into the Upside Down once again, where the spine-chilling villain Vecna lives.

While fans undoubtedly embraced the return of fan beloved characters, they were also delighted with another character who was really valuable in helping Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) in breaking out Hopper (David Harbour) out of prison, and that's no other than Murray, played by Brett Gelman.

It's already no secret that a spinoff will follow Stranger Things' groundbreaking finale. While we don't have any information yet on what the spinoff will be all about, it looks like Gelman clearly wants to be included.

In an interview with GQ, Stranger Things Season 4 star Brett Gelman expressed his hopes of reprising his role as Murray in the potential spinoff.

When asked if he would like to return, "I absolutely would, because I think it would be a completely new thing for the character and for his world," Gelman candidly responded. "And I think he's a really fun character to play. Not forever, but for a while longer absolutely. To think of getting to play him in a lot of precarious, high-intensity, high stakes situations and to do more action and to do more languages and to feel really uncomfortable by being around more insane people and being more judgmental of more stupid people-it feels iconic! In that way that you feel about James Bond or Inspector Clouseau. I think he has that in him to be that kind of character."

Now that a spinoff is seemingly confirmed to follow the conclusion of the Netflix hit, it is highly unlikely that it would revolve around any core characters of the Hawkins gang. With that said, it could follow a different path with new beloved characters like Enzo (Tom Wlaschiha) and Murray. While it's still too early to guess where the spinoff might center next, fans would surely get a hint when Stranger Things concluded.

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 is now available to stream on Netflix, while Volume 2 will premiere on July 1.
