Stranger Things Season 4 Is Becoming Netflix's Own X-Men

Stranger Things Season 4 is seemingly setting up a similar story to X-Men under Netflix's banner. The Duffer brothers created the Stranger Things series for Netflix. The two brothers have never made it a secret that they are huge fans of Marvel comics' X-Men.

As mentioned by Screenrant, the very first chapter had a scene where Dustin and Will talked about the Uncanny X-Men #134. Dustin also suggested that Eleven might be a mutant in Chapter 3. Meanwhile, Stranger Things Season 4, Episode 1 titled The Hellfire Club was a major reference to the group of X-Men villains.

Aside from the references, the character of Eleven is comparable to X-Men's Jean Grey. Add the fact that Eleven's real name is Jane. In Stranger Things Season 2, Eleven used a telekinetic shield, which is similar to Jean's powers. The X-Men similarities can be very subtle but it is there.

In season 4, there may also be other children that are experimented on at the Hawkins Lab. The Hawkins Institute can also be a counterpart of Charles Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters that is prevalent in the X-Men comics.
Xavier is a mutant who wants to teach other mutants how to control their powers. Meanwhile, Dr. Brenner is quite different as he wants to use gifted individuals as weapons.

Stranger Things Season 4 was announced in September 2019. The show's main cast will continue to play their respective roles in the series.
As of the moment, there is no definite release date for Stranger Things Season 4.
