Netflix shared Present Company With Krista Smith podcast wherein Ross Duffer teased that Stranger Things Season 4 took time before its release not only because of the pandemic but because it is long, "I think they’ll be happy when they see it. It’s very, very long, which is why it’s taking us a very long time..."

Surely, the pandemic caused delays in the production of the show, every production around the world suffered the same but given another reason which is the length of every episode, Stranger Things Season 4 really bought sometime.

Along with the announcement of the release date of Stranger Things Season 4 comes the confirmation that there are nine scripts for the entire run which means that nine episodes will be there. While Season 2 of Stranger Things had the same episode count, the runtime of each is expected to be longer.

Stranger Things Season 2 has episodes running approximately 50 to 55 minutes each. If Season 4 is much longer as Duffer teased, we are looking at nine hour-long episodes or even longer.

Season 4 of Stranger Things will be divided into two with Volume 1 and 2. The first part will be dealing with events six months after what happened in Season 3 where the Hawkins gang fought the Mind Flayer at the Starcourt Mall and Jim Hopper had to sacrifice himself for the safety of his adoptive daughter, Eleven, and the others.

Stranger Things Season 4’s star-studded cast includes Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Finn Wolfhard as Mike, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas, Noah Schnapp as Will, Sadie Sink as Max, David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Winona Ryder as Joyce, Brett Galman as Murray, Joe Keery as Steve, Natalia Dyer as Nancy, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan, Maya Hawke as Robin, and more.

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume will premiere on May 27, 2022, and Volume 2 will be out on July 1.
