Stranger Things Season 3 Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed

The premiere of Stranger Things Season 3 is still a few days away but the new season already has a Rotten Tomatoes score. Interestingly, the score could reveal just how fans will react when the show is finally released on Netflix.

The critics have spoken, giving Stranger Things 3 a 92% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. So far, only 25 critics have shared their thoughts on the highly anticipated third chapter of the Netflix show. Of course, there is no Audience Score just yet but that will change once the series returns this Thursday.

Interestingly, the rating happens to be the lowest score for the Netflix series. The first season is 96% certified fresh while Season 2 boasts of a 94% score. Perhaps things will change when more critics weigh in on the third season.

The Critics Consensus reads as follows:

"Vibrant and charming, Stranger Things transforms itself into a riveting -- if familiar -- summer ride that basks in its neon-laden nostalgia without losing sight of the rich relationships that make the series so endearing."

Although most critics clearly loved the third season, it was also deemed "rotten" by two critics. "On the evidence of this plodding and predictable third season, the Duffers can't skip town soon enough," wrote Ed Power of Daily Telegraph (UK).

TIME magazine's Judy Berman agrees, calling Season "a thin imitation of what we used to have, who could blame anyone for clinging to it?" Nevertheless, other critics have nothing but praise for Stranger Things 3.

"Stranger Things finally becomes the sort of extravagant, exceedingly ambitious adventure spectacle that would have ruled the theaters during the '80s, instead of a TV series merely obsessed with films from that decade," wrote Kevin Yeoman of Screenrant.

Are you ready for Stranger Things 3? The new season drops on Netflix on July 4.
