Story is 'Very Important' for Respawn's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

EA and developer Respawn really want you to know that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a single-player game. Both companies have promised that the game would have no microtransactions, multiplayer, or even DLC, at least at this point. Unsurprisingly, they also want you to know that the story will be one worth checking out, which means a lot to die-hard Star Wars fans who were promised that this would be canon.

Chris Avellone, one of the writers for Jedi: Fallen Order, stressed how important the story is for Respawn. He brought up how the company has told good stories in video games before and this will be no exception. While most people associate the company with free-to-play battle royale game Apex Legends, the company also worked on the acclaimed Titanfall 2, which actually had a good single-player campaign.

Here is what Avellone told VG247 about Respawn's dedication to the game's single-player:

"I hope [the six writers] are listed in the reveal because I accidentally said 'I've wrapped this up,' but there are other writers and I'm not even the lead guy.Story was very important to Respawn. I think they do a good job of introducing various narrative layers into their games already, but they think the story is an important part of what they perceive to be a Star Wars game. That's one of the reasons I like Respawn, because when they tackle something like that, they understand what the important points are."

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will focus on a Jedi apprentice who managed to survive Order 66. We are currently being promised a standalone single-player experience, so we can only hope that the story that is provided is a good one. At the least, we have an interesting premise.

Fans will be able to pick up Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on November 15 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
