Steven Universe Gets A New Title And Opening Sequence For Final Season

It's hard to believe that Steven Universe is finally coming to an end. However, the upcoming epilogue miniseries have just been announced and the Cartoon Network series is getting a new title and opening sequence.

The opening sequence was unveiled at New York Comic-Con where creator Rebecca Sugar also confirmed that the epilogue will be a rather short one but it should provide a fitting conclusion to Steven's story.

The new opening sequence features a new song Here We Are in The Future which now has other characters joining in for the show's new theme. Unlike We Are The Crystal Gems, which features the voices of Steve, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl, the new song brings in the entire Crystal Gem team.

There are interesting glimpses at what we could look forward to in Steven Universe Future. Peridot, Lapis, Bismuth, Spinel, and the Diamonds also show up in the opening sequence. Since the miniseries is taking place several years into the future, there's a possibility that Earth and Homeworld will be more intertwined in the final season.

We're certainly loving the new opening sequence and the new theme song for the show. However, we're also kind of sad that this will be the final season of Steven Universe. Nevertheless, there is little doubt that the epilogue miniseries will cover a lot of storylines and is set to wrap up everyone's arc. Let's just hope that everyone gets the happy ever after they deserve.

Steven Universe Future has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
