It's been a while since Lucasfilm released brand new footage for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Fans have been itching for the first full trailer for the film ever since the start of 2019, but Lucasfilm has been holding on to the footage, keeping the anticipation over the video high.

Now, there are new rumors going around saying that Star Wars fans might get to see the first full trailer for the film pretty soon. Star Wars official account took notice of a fan's post about getting their pet to cosplay Babu Frik, and while the response to the original post seems pretty tame, it does seem to reveal when the trailer for The Rise of Skywalker might drop.

Check out the tweet down here:

The post might seem harmless enough, but the reference to 14/10 could also be a reference to October 14, a date that seems perfect for a trailer drop. October 14 is a Monday, a great time to release a trailer for Episode IX. Of course, the studio could simply be talking about the puppy that the fan posted on Twitter, but there's a great reason why fans would believe that the Star Wars Twitter account was referring to the trailer drop when it mentioned 14/10 in its post.

Lucasfilm has a habit of releasing the first full trailers to its movies in October. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker got its first full trailer on October 19, 2015. Then, Star Wars: The Last Jedi got its trailer on October 9, 2017. An October 14 release date for Episode IX doesn't seem too farfetched.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
