Star Wars' Woody Harrelson Accepted Solo Role So He Can Meet Phoebe Waller-Bridge

Most actors would jump at the chance to be a part of the Star Wars franchise. However, Woody Harrelson admits that he only agreed to work on Solo: A Star Wars Story because he wanted to meet Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Harrelson spoke to Radio Times where he admitted that he has been a huge fan of the Fleabag creator. The Venom star revealed that he initially turned down the Star Wars film because he wanted to get some time off work.

"I was really debating doing this film and, in fact, I actually turned it down at first because I had been on such a long string of work and I just wanted to be home with my family. Thankfully I ended up doing it because I now can't imagine not knowing Phoebe."

Waller-Bridge played Lando Calrissian's droid companion L3-37, who eventually became a part of the Millennium Falcon in Solo. Harrelson couldn't help but gush about the actress during the interview.

"Oh god, I just love Phoebe. She is just such a delightful, fun and uplifting friend. A friend of mine told me about Fleabag and I watched it all. I love it. Love it! There aren't many episodes and I wish there were more. Luckily she is doing another season."

Although Harrelson's character Beckett only had a few scenes with L3 in Solo, it is clear that he was delighted to have met Waller-Bridge. Let's hope that the two can work together again in a future project.

Harrelson recently appeared as Cletus Kasady in the Venom post-credit scene. He is also expected to reprise his role as Tallahassee in Zombieland Too.
