Star Wars Won’t be Taken Over by Kevin Feige, Kathleen Kennedy Position Secure

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige might be producing a movie for Star Wars, but that doesn't mean that he's going to take over Kathleen Kennedy's position as the president of Lucasfilm.

Earlier this week, Game of Thrones showrunenrs David Benioff and D.B. Weiss announced their exit from their Star Wars trilogy and now industry sites are trying to dig into the fallout between the filmmakers and Lucasfilm.

Though the shake-up has been sparking concern, a new report by Variety says that fans shouldn't really expect Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige to take over Kathleen Kennedy's role at Lucasfilm.

According to the entertainment news outlet, sources over at the studio say that Kennedy's place is secure even with the recent DnD exit.

"In films of the size and scale of "Star Wars," it's not unheard of for productions to run into heated creative disagreements, but the high rate of turnover is raising eyebrows across Hollywood and among the rabid base of fans," the news outlet reminds readers.

"Sources at the studio insist that Kennedy's job is secure despite the churn of filmmaking talent," the site assures Star Wars fans, putting a button on those hoping to see Feige take over Lucasfilm.

Of course, analysts believe that there's a drawback to the recent shake-up. According to talent agency insiders, top filmmakers might become wary of working with Lucasfilm knowing that they may very well face an embarrassing dismissal from the studio the same way Benioff and Weiss were taken off their Star Wars trilogy.
