Star Wars: Watch Amazing Lightsaber Duel Take Place In Front of Live Concert

If you’re a Star Wars fan on the internet, there’s a huge chance that you’ve looked up lightsaber fights and live renditions of the movie scores on Youtube. What’s cool is, there’s a video up there that brings both together, and it’s fantastic.

Check it out:

The orchestra is playing the theme behind Anakin and Obi-Wan’s fateful battle in Mustafar, and you can see that the duelists that they brought to the stage are dressed as those characters as well. With Obi-Wan and Anakin’s duel in the movie being overly elaborate, I think it’s cool what the duelists brought to the stage; it’s not as flashy as the film, but they still brought some of the same choreography while coming up with new moves of their own.

When it comes to the lightsaber battles in the sequel trilogy, J.J. Abrams has said that he prefers the more guttural fighting that was introduced in the original Star Wars films. This should come as a bummer to a lot of fans since one of the best things about the prequels was definitely the duels. Fingers crossed that Abrams adds even just a little finesse to the lightsaber duel that will be taking place in Star Wars Episode IX.

We don’t have a trailer or title for Episode IX yet, but a lot of people are convinced that we have to wait until Star Wars Celebration in April to get our first look. With the film capping off one of the most celebrated sagas in box office history, Lucasfilm has a lot on their plate to make sure that this movie is marketed the right way.

Catch Star Wars Episode IX in theaters Dec. 20.
