Star Wars: Warwick Davis Wants Phantom Menace Character to Return

It's no secret that Warwick Davis has played several characters in the Star Wars films starting with the adorable Wicket in Return of the Jedi. But which character deserves a comeback? Davis says it should be the one he played in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

Davis recently spoke to Inverse about his work with Star Wars and he revealed an unexpected pitch for Lucasfilm.

"A character I'd love to bring back would be more Weazel," Davis said. "I think he deserves a little bit more."

Fans would note that Weazel made a surprise return in Solo: A Star Wars Story, confirming that the character has gone a long way since he watched Anakin Skywalker win the podrace in The Phantom Menace. It's this particular journey that Davis wants to explore.

"The experience I had on Solo was so fantastic anyway, but I think there's sort of an intrigue to that character," Davis said. "And I'd like to know what he got up to between Phantom Menace and Solo. Why did he take the path he took?"

It's an interesting pitch that has us wondering as well. So what exactly happened to Weazel before he became a freedom fighter? Perhaps we'll find out soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Davis recently reprised his role as an older Wicket (with a child, no less) in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which is still screening in theaters worldwide.
