Star Wars Voice Actress Explains Significance of Clone Wars Season 7 in Ahsoka’s Journey

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is in the middle of its seventh season, and it looks like Ahsoka Tahno is finally going to make her return to the series.

Speaking in an interview with Syfy Wire to talk about Ahsoka's return in the fan-favorite Star Wars animated series, voice actress Ashley Eckstein is asked to discuss the significance of the upcoming Clone Wars episodes in Ahsoka's journey towards Star Wars Rebels.

In the fifth season of the series, fans got to see Ahsoka walking away from the Jedi Order. While that really wasn't the end of Ahsoka's journey, the series got canceled right after it completed its sixth season back in 2014. It took Lucasfilm six years to finally release the seventh batch of episodes of The Clone Wars.

"When Ahsoka walked away from the Jedi Order at the end of Season 5, that was never meant to be the end of Ahsoka's storyline," Eckstein told Syfy, "We were almost done with Season 6 when we got the news that the show was canceled and there were several more stories and episodes that were meant to be produced and meant to be made in order to wrap up our character's storylines. So we knew that the show and these characters didn't get a proper ending."

Though fans know that Ahsoka's journey continues on to Star Wars: Rebels, Eckstein does say that the next eight episodes of the series is going to wrap up the character's storyline in The Clone Wars. The voice actress promises that the writers have given Ahsoka a proper ending in the series, though she's very careful not to give away too many spoilers.
