Star Wars Voice Actor Explains How The Clone Wars Final Season Connects To Rebels

Lucasfilm has been airing the seventh and final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars the past few weeks, and now that we're approaching the series finale of the critically-acclaimed Star Wars animated series, fans can't help but wonder how everything will flow into Star Wars Rebels.

Set in the Star Wars galaxy about five years before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, Rebels plays out after everything that goes on in The Clone Wars.

Speaking in an interview with Syfy,Star Wars voice actor Sam Witwer talks about how the series finale of The Clone Wars would impact the way fans see Star Wars Rebels. According to the voice actor who's given life to Maul and a whole range of other Star Wars characters, the final episodes of The Clone Wars is going to give fans the experience that Dave Filoni gained working on Rebels and The Mandalorian.

"That's the fun of the final arc. [With the] new stuff, you're gonna see Dave Filoni bringing the experience that he gained doing Rebels and the experience he gained doing The Mandalorian ... the Bad Batch is classic Clone Wars, it's pretty close to what they would have done years ago," Witwer told the science fiction news site.

That's not all of course. The voice actor also discusses the other things that fans can expect in the final arc of The Clone Wars.

"The Ahsoka arc is 50/50; you're gonna see some new stuff. And then the final arc, it's every trick that they have learned since Clone Wars [ended]," Witwer continued, "Every cinematic tool that they have newly developed since Clone Wars to tell the best Clone Wars story that maybe we've ever told. We'll see if people agree with me on that."

Of course, we understand that connections between The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels are inevitable. One series is linked to another in terms of time and narrative cohesiveness. We can't wait to see these connections when The Clone Wars airs its final episodes.
