Star Wars Throwback Of Hayden Christensen And George Lucas Excites Fans

There's a lot riding on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Not only is the film closing the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but it's also culminating the Skywalker saga. While Lucasfilm's been teasing the return of one of Star Wars biggest villains, Emperor Palpatine, fans have also been hoping to see the return of another major Star Wars character – the prequel trilogy's Anakin Skywalker.

Taking to Reddit, a fan decided to share a throwback to the set of Revenge of the Sith where we get to see Anakin Skywalker star Hayden Christensen wearing the Darth Vader suit while speaking with Star Wars creator, George Lucas.

"Brilliant throwback to the set of 'Revenge of the Sith' with Hayden donning the Vader suit. I'd love to see him back in some capacity. Great memories of the release in 2005," Star Wars fan u/vulptexcore wrote on his post.

The photo's gotten a whole lot of attention from the Star Wars community on the site, with fans admitting that they've always really loved Hayden and that they hope to see him as a Force Ghost in The Rise of Skywalker. There have been rumors that the actor may appear in Episode IX. Christensen has been more active in the Star Wars community as of late, attending conventions like Star Wars Celebration Chicago.

It would be good to see Anakin in Episode IX. Darth Vader has played a significant role in Kylo Ren's (Adam Driver) journey so far. We'll just have to wait and see.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
