Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's Billy Dee Williams Reveals Why He Was Worried About Returning as Lando Calrissian

There is little doubt that Billy Dee Williams' return as Lando Calrissian is one of the things that people are already looking forward to in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. However, Williams has just admitted that he was a little worried about coming back as the original trilogy character.

Williams was interviewed by Esquire where he confessed that he was somehow concerned about putting in a fitting performance as Lando.

"Do I have that same hunger, excitement, that I had years earlier?" Williams said, adding that he isn't a young actor anymore.

"This is a very difficult time for me, as far as age is concerned," he said. "When you get to be a certain age, whether you want to think about mortality or not, you think about it."

Luckily, it looks like Williams is still in great health and is fully capable of playing Lando all over again. He even made sure to wonder what Lando would be up to before the events in The Rise of Skywalker.

"I always imagined Lando being like Steve Wynn, running Las Vegas. Because he's a gambler. But he was a bit of a showman, a bit of an entrepreneur. That's how I see Lando. I never necessarily saw him as a general running around shooting things," Williams shared.

That sounds like the Lando we know and love indeed. Needless to say, we're already looking forward to seeing Lando one last time this year.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
