Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Official Poster Released

The long wait for the Star Wars Episode IX trailer and official title is finally over. Now we also have the first poster for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The first trailer for The Rise of Skywalker was unveiled at the end of the Episode IX panel at Star Wars Celebration. At the end of the teaser, the official subtitle was also revealed, much to the delight of fans. Not surprisingly, the first poster for the next Star Wars movie was then shown after the reveal. Take a look at the image below.

There's not much to go on in this poster but there is little doubt that it is just the start of Rise of Skywalker. However, we may need to wait a little longer before we get an official poster featuring all the characters.

The conclusion of the Episode IX panel also had an awesome surprise for prequel trilogy fans. Palpatine's return was already hinted at in the Rise of Skywalker trailer. However, nobody was expecting to see Ian McDiarmid to suddenly pop up on stage. A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.

Interestingly, the poster repeats an announcement made on the trailer. Both only confirm that The Rise of Skywalker will premiere in December but there is no official release date just yet.

Disney has already announced that Episode IX would be released on December 20. However, both the trailer and the poster may have revealed that there are plans to move the date. Let's just hope that it will be an earlier premiere instead of a later one.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will hit theaters this December.
