Though Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker doesn't have a major presence at the San Diego Comic-Con 2019 this year, there is this great display of different trooper armor, and in the spotlight is the red armor of the new Sith trooper. What's interesting is, the display comes with a description of the troopers, and some people have been trying to figure out what it says based on the photos.
Check this out:
"SITH TROOPER - In its ultimate push toward galactic control, the First Order [rallies] an army of elite soldiers that draw inspiration and power from a dark and ancient legacy."
Of course, this transcript is just based on the one photo, but I'm guessing we'll get a more detailed description once the promotions start pushing harder later in the year.
To be fair not much has been revealed about these Sith troopers, but their name is very suspicious. A lot of people are convinced that Kylo Ren wasn't a Sith, and he even suggested to Rey that they should just let it die along with the Jedi. Some guess that these soldiers aren't actually loyal to Kylo, but to a somehow resurrected Emperor Palpatine who has probably found his way to take over the First Order with Snoke gone.
Then again, some speculate that the Sith troopers are actually members of a third faction, and the First Order and Resistance will have to team-up in order for the greater good of the galaxy.
The best thing fans can really do now is guess. Hopefully, we get a more revealing trailer come the D23 Expo this coming August.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits cinemas Dec. 20.
