Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Makes It to the Top in Blu-Ray Sales Charts


It might have only been a week or so since Lucasfilm released Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on Blu-Ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD, but it looks like Episode IX is already topping the charts on the home video market.

According to a report by Forbes,The Rise of Skywalker has just taken the top spot on Google's list of rentals on Google play, beating out films that had its home release earlier than the third and final entry in Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy. The movie has also beaten out 2020 releases like Bad Boys for Life and Sonic the Hedgehog.

The Rise of Skywalker's success shouldn't really come as a surprise to readers. The Star Wars film franchise has always been a Hollywood juggernaut. Sure, Episode IX might have ended up becoming one of the most divisive entries in the Skywalker saga, however, the film does have its supporters.

Despite its propensity for indulgent and patronizing fan service, the film does have its moments.
