Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Leaked Look at Original Villain Proves Trevorrow’s Script

Last week a script for Colin Trevorrow's draft of his script for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker started making the rounds online, giving fans an idea of what the Jurassic World director's version of Episode IX would have looked like.

Now, Forbes tries to prove the legitimacy of the leak, saying that a leak from the upcoming art book of The Rise of Skywalker seems to confirm the script's existence, showing off concept art created for the time when Trevorrow was in charge of Episode IX. In the filmmaker's version of The Rise of Skywalker, a film which Trevorrow would call the Dual of Fates, Emperor Palpatine didn't play a rather large role in the third and final movie of Lucasfilm's entire Skywalker saga. Unlike The Rise of Skywalker which turned Darth Sidious into a central figure in the sequel trilogy, Dual of Fates revealed the Emperor to be nothing more than a hologram. The key villain in the film was Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), one of the most complex and layered characters in the franchise.

Not only that, but Dual of Fates also introduces a new villain, one that the art book confirms to be Tor Valum, a Sith master described as being both non-human and "lovecraftian."

This should come as a surprise to Star Wars fans. While some loved Palpatine's role in The Rise of Skywalker, many others felt that the villain shouldn't have had that big of a role in Episode IX. What do you think? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
