We already know that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is about one particular character proving that they are worthy of the name. But has a new international trailer just revealed that there is more than just one Skywalker that will be revealed in Episode IX?
The German poster for The Rise of Skywalker was shared by John Boyega on his official Instagram account and it features a lot of characters including Chewbacca's adorable porg co-pilot from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. However, some fans were mostly concerned about the film's German title: Star Wars: Der Aufstieg Skywalkers. Check it out below.
Wait, so what does it mean? The title roughly translates to "The Ascent (or Climb) of Skywalker" which pretty much means the same thing in English, right? Nevertheless, some are pointing out that the German title suggests there are multiple Skywalkers to look forward to in Episode IX.
It's an interesting point but remember that this is in German so the Skywalker in question is actually singular. Once again, the title continues to refer to just one person and we could soon find out whether it's Rey or Kylo Ren.
There have been speculations that the 'Skywalker' in the film's title might be referring to a new group of Force-users that will be called Skywalkers. However, it doesn't seem likely anymore now that all of the international titles are suggesting that it refers to one person.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will hit theaters on December 20.
