Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Confirmed for SDCC 2019

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was one of the biggest panels from Star Wars Celebration 2019, and everyone is waiting for the next big reveal for the movie. As it turns out, we could be getting that this coming July.

As per Making Star Wars, a source has told them that The Rise of Skywalker is coming to San Diego Comic-Con 2019 (July 18), what's more, we're also getting more on Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian in the coming Disney Expo in August.

This is what the source specifically said:

"San Diego Comic Con should have a Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker panel this summer and this year's D23 is supposed to focus on The Mandalorian and the connection to The Disney+ service."

With Star Wars now coming to SDCC, I'm sure the other studios presenting their films will have some serious competition. We don't know what DC is planning, but I'm guessing another teaser for Joker as well as our first look at Birds of Prey. As for the Marvel Studios side of things, I'm expecting a reveal of their Phase 4 movies.

Of course, it's still possible that these plans can change down the line, but with Mandalorian and TROS coming out later 2019, it would make sense for Lucasfilm to promote the film at one of the biggest cons of the year. Hopefully we'll get enough hype come November.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comes out Dec. 20; The Mandalorian launches with Disney+ on Nov. 12.
