It looks like some huge names will be joining the Star Wars Universe soon. A new report reveals that Robert Rodriguez and James Mangold are just two of the new directors who will helm episodes in The Mandalorian Season 2.
According to the podcast Black Series Rebels, Rodriguez and Mangold will be directing at least one episode each in the upcoming season of The Mandalorian. The report also reveals that Season 1 director Bryce Dallas Howard will return to helm yet another episode. Howard had previously directed Chapter 4: Sanctuary, where Din Djarin and Baby Yoda teamed up with Cara Dune to help a village fight against a band of raiders.
For now, it is unclear how many episodes Rodriguez and Mangold will be directing in The Mandalorian Season 2. Rodriguez is still expected to helm the sequel to Alita: Battle Angel while the Logan director was previously reported to be in talks to work on Indiana Jones 5. In addition to that, it is important to point out that the news has not yet been confirmed so it is best to take it with a grain of salt.
The only confirmed director for The Mandalorian Season 2 is Carl Weathers, who played Greef Carga in the first season. It has not yet been revealed whether the previous directors like Taika Waititi, Deborah Chow, Dave Filoni, and Rick Famuyiwa will return to work on new episodes.
The Mandalorian Season 2 is currently in production. The series is expected to return on Disney+ in October.
