Star Wars: The Mandalorian might feature the adventures of Pedro Pascal's lone Mandalorian bounty hunter, but ever since his surprise appearance in the live-action Star Wars series, Baby Yoda has taken the spotlight from the show's own lead star.
Everyone's fallen in love with Yoda, from Star Wars fans to Star Wars actors like The Rise of Skywalker's Daisy Ridley and John Boyega. The Mandalorian star Gina Carano is also fond of the little swamp rat.
Speaking in an interview with Cinema Blend to talk about Jon Favreau's new Star Wars series, Carano can't help but agree with The Mandalorian creator and executive producer when he says that it's impossible for any of the show's other characters to take over a scene when Baby Yoda's there.
"When you're acting with it, you're just like, 'Oh, my gosh, it's insanely cute.' These puppeteers gave it its own personality; it's a little actor. Jon once belly-laughed and was like, 'No matter what, this little guy is going to steal the scene in every scene that he's in," Carano admits, "Just know that you're all going to be number two to this.' (Laughs.) That's our little star of the show — 100 percent. There's no stealing a scene from Baby Yoda."
Baby Yoda's been the talk of the town the past few weeks. His doe eyes and green little head have captivated Star Wars fans all over – it doesn't matter whether Baby Yoda's 50-years-old or not.
Besides that, Baby Yoda plays an important part in the franchise. The child may be the very last of his species. Yoda's race has always been rare, and there's so much mystery surrounding the species. We're hoping that The Mandalorian reveals more details about Baby Yoda soon.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian is streaming on Disney+.
