Star Wars: The Last Jedi Makes Major Wins At Rakuten TV Empire Awards


Star Wars: The Last Jedi might have become the most divisive entry in the Star Wars franchise, however, The Force Awakens sequel did experience a lot of critical and commercial success during its cinematic run.

Now as the film waits for its Blu-Ray and DVD release, Star Wars: The Last Jedi continues to rake in prizes, this time at the Rakuten TV Empire Awards 2018.

According to Empire Online, The Last Jedi just recently won in five categories at the Rakuten TV Empire Awards 2018 at the Camden Roundhouse, taking in the prize for Best Film (presented by Sky Cinema.)

The film also won the prize for Best Director (presented by Vue Entertainment) as well as Best Actress (Rakuten TV), Visual Effects and Costume.

Star Wars legend Mark Hamill was also given the Icon Award (presented by BMW) during the event.

"Empire I think of as a magazine written by fans, for fans. First and foremost, that describes me, and I think the fans realize that — I'm one of them," the actor said, adding on, "I share this with all of you, and with the fans. Without them, I certainly wouldn't be standing here."

It might have been a while since The Last Jedi's release but it looks like the film just keeps on making waves.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently available on Digital HD and will be made available on Blu-Ray and DVD on March 27.
