Star Wars: The Last Jedi Deleted Scene Shows Tom Hardy’s Cameo

Tom Hardy's cameo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi might have gotten chucked out of the final cut of the film, but now that The Force Awakens sequel has finally hit its Digital HD release it looks like fans finally get to see the deleted scene with the English actor's cameo.

The scene takes place during the time Finn (John Boyega) and Rose (Kelly Marie Tran) infiltrate Snoke's ship to disarm the First Order's tracking system so that the Resistance can make an escape. Together with the code-breaking DJ (Benicio Del Toro) the three get to meet Hardy's character inside an elevator.

In such close confines of the elevator, things get pretty tense, especially when the group finds out that the Stormtrooper has a history with Finn. At first, the three think their cover gets blown when the trooper gets close to fin, but then he blurts out "I never took you for officer material," and relief washes over.

Though the scene seems to fit right in with the rest of Finn's arc in The Last Jedi, it looks like Rian Johnson decided to cut the cameo because of the trooper's hard southern accent. Such a shame.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is available on Digital HD and will be made available on Blu-Ray and DVD on March 27.
