Star Wars: The Clone Wars Series Finale Delivers an Emotional Conclusion for Ahsoka and Rex

Star Wars: The Clone Wars has finally come to an end and although the journey is over, the Season 7 finale turned out to be an emotional rollercoaster for everyone. It's not just the fans we're talking about, because Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex went through a lot in Victory and Death.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers from Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Episode 12. Proceed with caution.

Victory and Death immediately kicks off with Ahsoka and Rex deciding that they should leave the cruiser as soon as possible. However, it's not going to be as easy as it seems. After all, Maul is still out there being chaotic in the ship and the Clone Troopers are out for blood.

The Clones ultimately decide that Rex has turned against them and it is Jesse who delivers a truly heartbreaking line. "Commander Rex, you're in violation of Order 66, I accuse you of treason against the Republic. You'll be demoted in rank from Commander and subject to execution along with the traitor Ahsoka Tano," he announces.

Rex isn't particularly bothered (he has other things in mind) and says he didn't really like being Commander anyway. But that's when things go from bad to worst. The ship suddenly begins falling apart and several Clones plummet into space. Those who remain are forced to fight against Rex and Ahsoka, who isn't willing to kill any of her former friends.

In the meantime, Maul is also busy with the second part of his hallway massacre, using the Force to force a Clone to fire at his own companions. The villain ultimately destroys the hyperdrive, causing the cruiser to crash into a moon.

There are so many things to deal with and Ahsoka had to make some big decisions. She could prevent Maul from escaping instead of fighting her way out of her dilemma. However, she ultimately decides to let Maul go and it's a decision that leads to the biggest heartbreak in the series.

Although Ahsoka and Rex managed to escape, all of the other Clones end up crashing into their deaths. Unfortunately, the moon is now their graveyard and all these lead to Ahsoka leaving one of her lightsabers with her fallen friends. It's a symbol that is later discovered by her former master.
