Star Wars: The Clone Wars is Officially Over According to Dave Filoni

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is officially over, finally wrapping up any remaining plot threads that were previously unexplained. It was a mostly satisfying conclusion, though some of the initial hype died down a bit since most of us knew that Ahsoka and Captain Rex would live and then appear in Rebels. Still, some fans were unconvinced and hoping for something else that would be related to The Clone Wars but that doesn't appear to be happening.

During an interview with Nerdist, Star Wars' own Dave Filoni basically said that The Clone Wars is pretty much over and done with, stating that he is looking forward to the franchise's future. This might not be news to a lot of fans since the final season was clearly advertised and marketed as a finale but this should silence anyone who wants more of the show. Just rewatch it, you guys.

"We've got to look forward a bit here, but boy that was really satisfying to get to do. I can't even tell you how grateful we all are that people were there for it to watch and support it. Disney+ supported us greatly to get this done. It was a great effort by everybody that understood what Clone Wars meant to people. It feels good. I'm glad it's done."

Filoni is still heavily involved with Star Wars, helping out with The Mandalorian and even the recently-concluded Star Wars Resistance. It's clear that the creator will be around Star Wars for a long time, which should mean more quality content. Now, when is he going to work on one of the movies?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is available to watch on Disney+ right now.
