Star Wars The Mandalorian: Nick Nolte's Role Revealed?

Jon Favreau's Star Wars: The Mandalorian has a lot of stars attached to it including the likes of Pedro Pascal and Giancarlo Esposito. Nick Nolte has also been confirmed for the show, and it's possible that we may know who he's playing.

As per Making Star Wars, Nolte is said to be playing an ugnaught in the series. If you don't remember what ugnaughts are, they're the little pig people that we're introduced to in Cloud City in Empire Strikes Back.

By the looks of it, Nolte is only lending his voice to the character. Since ugnaughts are tiny, it's said that a small woman will just be given an animatronic, and Nolte will just complete the character with his voice. I guess this is the most efficient way to go with the character. I wouldn't expect them to put Nolte in make-up and have him digitally inserted in shots a la The Lord of the Rings.

While we don't have any details on the character specifically, it's been said that the prosthetics for the ugnaughts look amazing. I don't know what makes it so amazing until I see it, but with the updated movie tech that Lucasfilm has their hands on, I wouldn't be surprised that the production value for this show would be top quality.

Hopefully, we get our first teaser before the year ends.

Catch Star Wars: The Mandalorian when it debuts on Disney+ sometime next year.
