It certainly sounds like The Mandalorian is going to be loads of fun. Jon Favreau has previously teased a behind-the-scenes look at Taika Waititi recording his voice for IG-88 in the upcoming Star Wars series. But did you also notice that a certain helmet featured the same colors as a certain Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero? Waititi definitely has and he wants you to think about it for a while.
Waititi recently reshared his photo on his official Twitter account along with a hilarious caption. Take a look at the tweet below.
"Why isn't anyone talking about that weird IRON-MANdolorian helmet," Waititi wrote.
It certainly is a strange color scheme for a bounty hunter. However, it's highly unlikely that the lead Mandalorian in the series will be wearing that helmet. There are speculations that the helmet might be a gift for Favreau that honors his work in Iron Man as well as his current Star Wars duties. Nevertheless, it would be cool if a random Mandalorian walks around in the series wearing Iron Man's colors.
Waititi will be doing more than just providing the voice of IG-88. The Thor: Ragnarok director has also been confirmed to helm one of the episodes of The Mandalorian. For now, we're just wondering if IG-88 actually sounds like Korg, the Kronan warrior Waititi played in the MCU flick.
The synopsis for The Mandalorian reads as follows:
"After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic."
The official premiere date of The Mandalorian has not yet been announced. Nevertheless, the Star Wars series is expected to air on Disney+ by late 2019.
