Star Wars: Squadrons Gets Its First Few Screenshots

Star Wars gamers were treated to the first full trailer to EA's new Star Wars title, an action videogame called Star Wars: Squadron. Featuring the pilots of the New Republic fighting the remnants of the Galactic Empire after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, this brand new Star Wars game offers fans another great title to go along with Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Adding to the hype, EA has released screenshots taken from Star Wars: Squadron, offering fans a closer look at the videogame.

You can check out the screenshots in the tweet down below:

Interestingly enough, Squadron will support virtual reality headsets on both PC and PlayStation 4, allowing Star Wars gamers to get the closest experience to actually flying an X-wing in a dogfight in space. That's not all of course, of course. Offering a single-player and multiplayer campaign, Squadron will feature cross-play in all of the platforms that it's going to come in – PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

"We created this game for every Star Wars fan who has ever dreamt about soaring across the galaxy in their favorite starfighter," Motive Studios Creative Director Ian Frazier said in a statement released together with the trailer for the game,"Through the collaboration of the teams at Motive and Lucasfilm, we've been able to create a high-fidelity starfighter experience with an authentic storyline that invites Star Wars fans to explore never-before-seen corners of the galaxy in their own ship. We're excited to show all this in action this week at EA Play Live."

While we don't know much about the game just yet, a full look at Squadron's gameplay is going to be released later this week on June 18 at 4PM PT/ 7PM ET.

Star Wars: Squadrons is set to release on October 2 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
