Star Wars: Squadrons Announces Incoming Ships: the B-Wing and TIE Defender

While it wasn't EA Star Wars' biggest launch, Star Wars: Squadrons still managed to get praise from fans and is a great starfighter simulator. Though the game already has a solid lineup of fighters, EA Motive has announced that they'll be adding two new ships to the fray.

According to EA, this December will bring in the classic B-Wing as well as the TIE Defender. Check them out:

Here's the official description for both:

These two starfighters are as powerful as they are iconic, though understandably balanced out for the purposes of the game. The B-wing will be categorized as a Bomber-class starfighter and the TIE defender will be a Fighter, each being able to use the components relevant to their faction and class, but they'll also come with their own unique aspects in line with what you'd expect from them, such as the B-wing with its gyro-cockpit and swiveling wings and the TIE defender with its shields.

While the two do have their perks, Motive has also made sure that there will be adjustments to balance the fighters among the existing ones. Depending on your playstyle, there will still be chances in where the Y-Wing is more beneficial to the B-Wing or the standard TIE is still preferable to the Defender.

Besides the upcoming ships, players are also getting a new map later this month with a location called Fostar Haven. This map is actually available in the game's first prologue mission, but the devs are making it playable for Fleet Battles and Dogfight mode.
