The Star Wars universe continues to ride a massive way of momentum thanks to the unprecedented success of the MandoVerse. But long before Lucasfilm's streaming properties were a thing, the franchise's dominance in the world of video gaming is also responsible for keeping Star Wars relevant. Now, speaking of video game titles, a new rumor suggests that 2022 will mark the year that we'll finally get details about the long-awaited sequel to 2019's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
According to a report from Bespin Bulletin, this year's Star Wars celebration will be home to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2's official announcement. Not only that but it is also said to be accompanied by official game footage courtesy of its developer Respawn Entertainment. As for the sequel's potential release date, publisher Electronic Arts is reportedly planning to drop the title during the latter part of the year. As it stands, nothing has been made official yet so take everything with a death star-sized grain of salt.

Despite the exciting new update regarding Fallen Order 2, a lot of gamers are incredibly bummed out that they're getting the title before Battlefront III, a game that has long had a huge clamor from the fandom. To be fair, the Fallen Order series also has its loyal fanbase, and considering how popular the first game turned out to be, it doesn't come as a surprise how Respawn and EA chose to prioritize it over other potential titles.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is playable on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Google Stadia, and Microsoft Windows.
