Star Wars: Rogue One Prequel Series Casting Teases Cassian Andor Origin Story

There is little doubt that the success of The Mandalorian is already getting people hyped up for the next Star Wars series that will air on Disney+. Luckily, it looks like the Rogue One prequel show already sounds promising. The new casting news may have confirmed that we'll get to see Cassian Andor's origin story next year.

According to The Illuminerdi, the Rogue One series is currently looking for a young actor to play "Mundo", who will be portrayed in the ages 6 and 13. The character is described as a young Latino male with "wild and unruly [with] a head full of brown hair and big, passionate eyes".

Does that sound like someone we already know? Fans believe that "Mundo" is actually the young Cassian, who had already admitted that he has been a part of the Rebellion since he was only six years old. If this is true, the prequel show could reveal what led to Cassian becoming a part of Rebellion in the first place.

The possible young Cassian isn't the only one who is being cast in the Rogue One series. The show is also looking for an actress to play "Cinta", who is described as "a 5-7 year old Hispanic female." The young girl "has a head full of brown hair and big eyes" and is said to be "a wild and unruly kid." There is a possibility that "Cinta" might be Cassian's younger sister.

The Cassian Andor series has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to air on Disney+ in early 2021.
