Lucasfilm might be trying its best to keep Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's secrets under wraps before the film premieres this December, however, the studio wants fans to know what Rey (Daisy Ridley), Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaac) have been doing to prepare for Episode IX.
Marvel is releasing a four-part Star Wars comic series called Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: Allegiance as a part of official books and comics by Lucasfilm, and it looks like the title features adventures that Rey, Finn, and Poe find themselves in before they arrive in The Rise of Skywalker.
According to Digital Spy, the comic book series is split into two different storylines. The first one has Finn and Poe trying to secure weapons for the Resistance. The other storyline has the others looking for allies in Mon Cala.
This narrative shouldn't really come as a surprise to Star Wars fans. It would only make sense for the Resistance to scramble to search for weapons and allies after Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The Resistance was nearly obliterated by The First Order in the movie. We don't really think the group could have survived had it not been for the sacrifice that Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) made on Crate.
The comic book series is a pretty great way for fans to prepare for The Rise of Skywalker. Marvel's Allegiance bridges the gap between The Rise of Skywalker and The Last Jedi. It helps fans understand Rey, Finn, and Poe's mindset as they enter the upcoming movie.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
