Have you been wondering if Finn and Rose Tico will be together in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker? You won't need to wait until the premiere of Episode IX. A new book has just revealed the status of the relationship between the two Resistance fighters after their kiss in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
The new novel Resistance Reborn follows the events that took place right after The Last Jedi (via Comicbook.com). In the book by Rebecca Roanhorse, Poe Dameron actually asks Finn about his relationship with Rey but the former Stormtrooper dismisses it by stating that they are just friends. When Poe then asks about Rose, Finn explains that they have a similar situation.
Unfortunately, it looks like Finn and Rose shippers (as well as Finn and Rey shippers) will be disappointed about the revelation. As it turns out, Finn and Rose decided not to pursue anything romantic after their kiss in The Last Jedi and opted to remain friends. On the other hand, there's still hope for Finn and Poe shippers, right?
Although we already know that Finn will be "just friends" with Rey (and Rose), we have yet to find out whether the character will finally get his heroic arc in The Rise of Skywalker. Hopefully, we'll get to see Finn step up and become a truly important member of the Resistance in Episode IX.
