Star Wars Reveals Mace Windu Nearly Murdering a Jedi

Mace Windu might be a fan-favorite Jedi, however, it seems like the Jedi Master has had a rather complicated past. Unlike most Jedi, Mace Windu has harnessed his anger in ways that the other members of the Jedi Council don't usually permit.

At one point, this anger nearly resulted in the murder of a fellow Jedi – one of the darkest moments in Windu's history.

Following the story of Star Wars: Mace Windu by Matt Owens, Deny Cowan, and Edgar Salazar (via Comic Book Resources), Star Wars fans get to see Windu at the height of the Clone Wars. Hearing to the remote world of Hissrich, Windu recruits a small team of Jedi made up of Kit Fisto, Rissa Mano, and Prosset Dibs, to protect a mysterious and valuable energy source for the Republic that's only found on the planet.

Dibs, however, is tired of the war and disillusioned by what the conflict has done to the Jedi Order. Learning how Windu and his team are on the planet more for the power source than to protect Hissrich, Dibs attacks.

Windu defends himself and the comic reveals how the Jedi Master has been using his inner rage and frustrations during his personal time outside the Jedi Council. The comic even reveals how Windu even seems to hate cruel people like false Jedi priests.

When Dibs announces his intention of abandoning the Jedi Order, Windu's anger breaks and he nearly kills his former ally in his fury. Luckily, he's able to reign his anger in, deciding to bring Dibs to the council instead in order to face justice.

Windu is certainly a complex character. We wonder whether Lucasfilm might ever be interested in exploring more of Windu's story in a Disney+ series.
