Star Wars: Return To Vader’s Castle Offers New Horrors For Fans

The Star Wars franchise may delve into the spiritual realm from time to time, however, the series has never really explored the horror genre – until the last two years.

IDW has been releasing horror-themed Star Wars comics since October last year (via StarWars.com), and now the publisher is continuing the tradition with Star Wars: Return to Vader's Castle, a weekly comic book series which offers readers tales of terror focused on Darth Vader's castle on the planet of Mustafar.

Return to Vader's Castle might seem tame enough for younger readers to enjoy, but like IDW's Star Wars horror comic series last year, this new offering is going to give fans a nice heart-pounding read.

The comic series is written by Clavan Scott and it features the art of an all-star set of artists which includes Nick Brokenshire, Nicoletta Baldari, Francesco Francavilla, Megan Levens, Kelley Jones, and Charles Paul Wilson II. Return to Vader's castle is a weekly five-issue series that "will once again celebrate the spooky side of Star Wars with new stories of galactic frights."

StarWars.com has an exclusive first look at some of the pages of issue #1 of Return to Vader's Castle featuring the art by Levens and Francavilla. The first issue tells the story of a servant of Darth Vader on Mustafar who shares a story where a crew was sent to Lotho Minor "where there is but one goal: survive the planet's horrors."

We can't wait for spooky Star Wars!

Star Wars: Return to Vader's Castle hits shelves next Wednesday, October 2.
