Star Wars Rebels' Creator Teases Fans With Image of Surviving Characters' Futures

Star Wars: Rebels was pretty much everything a fan could ask for when it came to an animated series based on George Lucas' creation. The series had a number of great characters, spectacular moments, and even a couple of heart-wrenching deaths that even triumph over what we've seen from the live-action movies. Dave Filoni, the series' showrunner, was feeling nostalgic over the show and shared a new image that will make many fans happy.

Filoni revealed that it's been a year since the series finale of Rebels aired, which gave lead character Ezra Bridger and antagonist Grand Admiral Thrawn a vague fate since fans don't know if both characters are alive. To celebrate that moment, Filoni drew an image of both characters trying to survive together, though he was quick to point out that it was just an image made for today and is not a hint for a new series.

The Rebels creator has told fans that both characters are alive but what they're currently doing is still unknown. This could easily lead to some sort of Rebels special that ties the story up. Maybe we'll even get another final season for the show ala The Clone Wars. Or it could be resolved in the Marvel comics. There are a ton of possibilities.

Star Wars: Rebels is available now on digital outlets, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
