James Mangold's Star Wars movie about the Jedi origin has seemingly received a title change thanks to one of the franchise's producers.

Last year, Lucasfilm announced that the Logan director is developing a new Star Wars movie that will take place around 25,000 years before the original trilogy and explores the origin of the Jedi order.

The project received a significant update recently as it was reported that Andor writer Beau Willimon had been tapped to co-write the script with Mangold.

In a recent interview, Star Wars producer Simon Emanuel seemingly teased a new title for Mangold's movie as he called the project "Jedi Prime."

"James Mangold's Jedi Prime is set thousands and thousands of years before [the original trilogy], and I'm really excited to see what happens there," he said.

Fans previously assumed that Mangold's project is titled "Dawn of the Jedi" based on various past reports, but now it looks like that is no longer the case based on Emanuel's recent remarks.

The new title suggests an interesting direction for the project as it hints that the story will heavily focus on the Prime Jedi and it won't just explore the origins of the Jedi Order itself.

At this point, the Star Wars franchise has established a lot of elements to the Jedi lore and it is interesting to see how they will tackle its origins knowing how it changed the course of the galaxy for the next thousands of years.

Considering that Lucasfilm is also working on a movie about the new Jedi Order with Daisy Ridley returning as Rey, it opens up an opportunity for them to vastly explore the Jedi history across these two movies that are in the works.

For now, fans should wait for more news and updates regarding the project as it continues to be in development.
