Though things may be going smoothly for The Mandalorian, the same can't be said about Disney+'s other Star Wars shows, Kenobi and Andor. It's said that Kenobi is aiming for a 2021 start, but now we have possible news on the shooting date of Cassian Andor's spinoff prequel.
As per Knight Edge Media's Caleb Williams, the show could be aiming to start shooting this summer. Here's the post:
That's five months of shooting the series, which looks realistic enough, but we can't really know for sure. Unless we get an official update from Lucasfilm though, I think this is the best we're going to get.
So far, the only thing we can piece together when it comes to Andor is that the series will explore the early days of the Rebellion, not just Cassian. We're going to meet some of Cassian's familyāpossibly his sisterāand we'll also get to see the return of Rogue One's favorite droid, K-2SO. We don't know how far K-2's involvement will go, but I'm guessing we get to watch how he's reprogrammed and starts working for the Rebels.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of lightsaber heroes so much, but I love the grunts that are made up of soldiers and pilots. Besides Cassian, I'm hoping we get to see other beloved characters in Star Wars. Hopefully, we get to meet X-Wing pilot Biggs Darklighter, who a lot of people thought Diego Luna was planning before he was announced to be playing Cassian.
No release date has been set for Andor, but the second season of The Mandalorian comes out this October on Disney+.
