The Skywalker saga may have come to an end when Lucasfilm released Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, however, the film left a lot of unanswered questions especially when it came to Palpatine and to Snoke.
In the film, fans got to see a vat filled with clones of Supreme Leader Snoke in Emperor Palpatine's lair in Exegol. Though the scene implied that Palpatine had created Snoke, The Rise of Skywalker never really revealed what the villain was – was he a clone of Palpatine or was he something entirely new?
Inverse decided to ask 1,200 Star Wars fans what they thought Snoke was, and it seems like the four most popular answers were clones of Grand Admiral Tarkin, Darth Plagueis, a random Dark Side Guy, and of course, Palpatine himself.
According to the vote of 100 respondents, Snoke seems to be the clone of Grand Moff Tarkin, the piercing and menacing commander who has appeared in Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, and of course, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Snoke has long since believed to be a clone of the Grand Moff, years before the release of The Rise of Skywalker. Fans just couldn't help but link the Supreme Leader's hallow looks to Tarkin's high cheekbones.
260 of the polls votes went to Darth Plagueis. Fans couldn't help but think that Palpatine had created Snoke in the image of Darth Sidious' master. Random Dark Side Guy seemed to be a popular choice as well, earning 360 votes.
The most popular response, of course, was that Snoke was a clone of Palpatine. It doesn't seem too farfetched knowing that the Palpatine that fans get to see in The Rise of Skywalker is nothing but a clone of the original Emperor that fans got to see in the original trilogy.
