People are understandably excited about seeing Poe Dameron's return in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. However, Oscar Isaac is already hyping up his next project Dune by claiming that the new adaptation of Frank Herbert's works will be "scary" and "visceral."
Isaac recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about The Rise of Skywalker but also took time to discuss Dune. Interestingly, the Annihilation star pointed out that his new movie will be a complete departure from Star Wars, thanks to the way Denis Villeneuve directed the film.
"It's just a wholly, wholly different thing. I couldn't imagine anyone more suited for the tone of the original Frank Herbert novels than Denis," Isaac said. "There are some things that are — for lack of a better word — nightmarish about what you see… There's just this kind of brutalist element to it. It's shocking. It's scary. It's very visceral."
Now that's how you catch the attention of fans who are already looking forward to Dune. Needless to say, we can't wait to see the new adaptation.
Isaac will play Duke Leto Atreides, the father of Timothee Chalamet's Paul Atreides. The cast also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgaard, Zendaya, Dave Bautista, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, David Dastmalchian, Charlotte Rampling and Javier Bardem.
Dune has already completed production but we have yet to get the first trailer for the highly anticipated film. Hopefully, we'll get an update within the next few weeks. In the meantime, Dune is scheduled for release on December 18, 2020.
