Star Wars Novel May Have Revealed Rey’s Surprising New Power in The Rise of Skywalker

Rey (Daisy Ridley) might have been the star in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy, however, everyone's favorite Jakku Orphan has been criticized for having too much power in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Now, we're only a few days away from the sequel trilogy coming to an end with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker set for release in December and everyone's eager to see what kind of new abilities Rey might gain in the film. Though Lucasfilm doesn't really give too much info away about Episode IX, a new YA novel by Kevin Shinick seems to have come close to the upcoming Star Wars movie.

According to a report by Inverse, young adult novel Star Wars: Force Collector has come to close to replicating the plot J.J. Abrams has for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker with the book featuring new abilities that Rey is actually supposed to have in Episode IX.

While she isn't really named Rey herself, Force Collector's protagonist, Karr Nuq Sin, can see visions relating to the Jedi whenever she comes into contact with anything related to the Force Users. In the novel, Sin sees a vision of Luke training together with Obi-Wan from Star Wars: A New Hope right after taking a step into the Millennium Falcon.

Sin might not be Rey, but she does seem to have a similar journey, and so everyone's wondering whether Rey might be granted the ability to have Force-visions every time she comes into contact with something from the Jedi.

It doesn't sound too far-fetched. After all, Rey did have a few visions when she held Luke's lightsaber for the very first time in The Force Awakens.

What do you think of Rey's potential new Jedi power? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
