Star Wars: New Details Revealed on the Cassian Andor Series

Lucasfilm may be working on Star Wars: The Mandalorian now, but we know that another Star Wars series is in the works centered on Rogue One's Cassian Andor. What's cool is, we have some new info on the show, and an estimated timetable for the production.

According to That Hashtag Show, this is the series synopsis for the production:

"The "Rogue One" prequel will unfold in the early years of the Rebellion and is described as a "rousing spy thriller." Diego Luna will reprise his role as rebel spy Cassian Andor, the cocky daredevil who helped steal the Death Star plans in the hit 2016 movie. "

The series is also expected to have a start this coming October with the wrap set on June 17, 2020. With that in mind, I'm guessing this series is going to release a year after The Mandalorian.

We don't know that much about the show yet, but it has been revealed that Diego Luna will be reprising his role of Captain Cassian Andor. In Rogue One, we know that Cassian had a long history with the Rebellion. I'm hoping the show would give us look at some transitions from the Republic to the Empire—maybe some ‘missing link' between Clone and Stormtroopers. What if we can visit familiar planets like Corellia or Kashyyyk?

For now, fans are gearing up for the release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian. The show is said to have a huge budget ($100 million) and is expected to be one of the major draws for Disney's streaming service. Fingers crossed that Jon Favreau delivers.

Catch Star Wars: The Mandalorian when it comes out sometime this year.
